    Worship pastor/ director

    The Worship Pastor/Director will serve as the primary overseer of music and technology, in coordination with the Senior Pastor and Senior Director of Programming and Communications, to help prepare the hearts of the audience for the sermon by providing an atmosphere for worship and praising our Lord Jesus Christ with excellence.


    Ministry Function: The Worship Pastor/Director will serve as the principal worship leader. The Worship Pastor/Director will provide pastoral care for the Worship Arts Ministry, shepherding musicians, vocalists, the production team, and other artists in the worship arts community. He must have a deeply abiding personal relationship with Christ with the ability to effectively and passionately lead others into the presence of God. The Worship Pastor/Director will build teams and recruit volunteers and must have good communication and interpersonal skills. The worship Pastor/Director must be gifted musically, able to lead vocally, and on piano or guitar. Song writing, producing and arranging skills are also preferred.


    Worship Pastor/Director expectations:

     

    1. Lead worship for Sunday services, Prayer services and Special Events;
    2. Serve on the Worship Arts Leadership Team, planning services, providing creative and conceptual forethought, theological accuracy, variety, sensitivity to the Spirit, synergy, and musical appropriateness for Sunday services and special events;
    3. Provide pastoral care for all worship arts ministry members;
    4. Ensure that all the musical aspects of the service are well-planned, rehearsed, and suited to advance the theme for the day;
    5. Be a dynamic, adaptable advocate for the worship ministry, its various components, and its mission and vision within the context of the New Community;
    6. Direct all weekly activities and rehearsals necessary to facilitate excellent worship experiences in all services;
    7. Research and introduce worship teams and choirs to conferences, books, and other ministries for the purpose of spiritual development, skills training and continued growth;
    8. Build contacts and relationships with local worship leaders, studios, and organizations for both evangelistic and staffing purposes;
    9. Participation in sound checks for all assigned services and event;
    10. Responsible for recruiting and developing staff and volunteers for events and the needs for the organization;
    11. All other reasonable duties or assistance as assigned, but not listed above.
