part-time Children’s Ministry Assistant

General Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Children’s Ministry Leader as assigned in supervising the weekday staff and volunteer servants in Children’s Ministry
  • Oversee the Children’s Ministry in the absence of the Children’s Ministry Leader
  • Assist with training new children’s ministry servants and day care providers
  • Fill-in for children’s ministry servants and child care providers as assigned by the Children’s Ministry Leader, in the absence of children’s ministry servants
  • Maintain a ministry compliance data base for persons approved to serve in children’s ministry (completed background checks and 2 year updates on background checks) Prepare identification badges for those authorized to serve in children’s ministry
  • Assist with providing administrative support to Children’s Ministry Leader in making copies, organizing ministry materials for children ministry servants for class instruction, and assist in sanitizing the children’s ministry area
  • Maintaining inventory of children ministry supplies and maintaining organized inventory space
  • Contacting ministry servants scheduled to serve to confirm their availability to serve; and if not able to serve, contact substitutes to serve
  • Assist with maintaining a child-safe environment by ensuring that children’s ministry policies and procedures are consistently followed and adhered to
  • Other children’s ministry duties as assigned by the Children’s Ministry Leader
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Some familiarity with organized Childcare and or Children’s Ministry experience or certification
  • A demonstrated passion for Children’s Ministry and the spiritual development and growth of children
  • A degree or certification in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Children’s Ministry, or related areas preferred
  • Ability to recruit and train childcare workers and children ministry servant volunteers
  • Organized with excellent administrative skills, along with great communication skills
  • Employee Schedule: The expected schedule includes Sunday (8 AM - 2 PM); and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (10 AM - 3 PM); (There may be times when additional hours may be required for special events, such as, Elevate, Conferences, Special Events, etc.)
