Job Description
The Digital and Social Media Specialist will serve as the principal digital communicator for New Community. This team member will develop and maintain all digital media and social media for the organization, including but not limited to the website, social media channels, etc. This team member will be focused on digital content creation, social media mapping, increased engagement and growth across all platforms. This team member is passionate about championing the mission of New Community, which is to change lives through the power of Jesus Christ. This team member is also driven by a desire to create and share excellent ministry-related content that can have an immediate and far-reaching impact through New Community’s social media accounts and other platforms.
Web Design / Digital Media Responsibilities:
- Maintain and continually develop all websites
- Maintain and update the church app
- In-service and online screen images for services and events
Social Media Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Increase engagement with the online community through inspirational messaging
- Maintain and update all social media channels based on the daily schedules
- Design and write innovative content to increase engagement
- Developing and posting content on all client social media channels
- Monitoring trends in social media, suggesting and proposing ideas
- Editing and post-production of video content
- Recruit and Manage the Digital Hospitality Team for Sunday services and special events
Qualifications:
- Must have and maintain a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and have a working knowledge of the Bible
- Partnering with Director of Communications to design marketing and social media campaigns to drive engagement and leads
- Delivering analytics reports on a regular basis for all social network activity, paid and organic to track and enhance social media performance
- 1 - 3 years of social media marketing experience (either in-house or agency)
- Graphic design and/or Photography experience is preferred
- Creative writing skills is a plus
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree is a plus (Communications, Advertising, Marketing or a related field)
- In-depth knowledge/experience of SEO, SEA, HTML, CSS, social media, web analytics and reporting is a plus
- Self-motivated & proactive
- Other duties as needed
