what is the freedom ministry?
New Community's Freedom Ministry offers one-on-one discipleship to those seeking to walk in the spiritual freedom that only Christ provides (John 8:31–32).
Through an approximately eight-week discipleship process, you'll work through biblical resources and meet with a trained discipler who will come alongside you as you prepare for a Freedom Appointment.
is a freedom appointment right for me?
A Freedom Appointment is designed for those experiencing what we call disconnects from God, areas of spiritual struggle that may be hindering your intimacy with Him. These areas may include:
Persistent fear or troubling thoughts
Recurring struggles with sin
Anger or emotional struggles
Difficulty believing or applying God's truth
Past experiences that continue to affect your spiritual life
Other areas where you feel spiritually stuck
Before beginning the process, you will have an opportunity to share what you've been experiencing. Our team will help determine whether a Freedom Appointment is the right step for you.
how the freedom appointment works
A Freedom Appointment is a confidential process through which you ask God to reveal the things that may be hindering your intimacy with Him. At its core, it is a process of repentance and faith in Jesus Christ based upon Scripture.
During the appointment, you'll work through The Steps to Freedom in Christ, which guides you through seven critical areas where we can develop disconnects from God.
Your trained discipler will be there to coach, guide, and pray with you throughout the process, while the appointment itself remains focused on you, the Holy Spirit, and what God is revealing to you.

Small Groups are a vital part of spiritual growth at New Community. They provide biblical community where we can grow spiritually and walk alongside one another.
At the same time, we recognized that some of our members were struggling silently with deeper issues that needed more personal attention. In response, we partnered with Freedom in Christ Ministries (FICM) and trained members of our ministry in biblical principles that equip them to come alongside our members and visitors and guide them on their path toward spiritual freedom.
Our life experiences can shape our behaviors and patterns of thinking. Over time, these experiences can become like “ruts in the road of life,” affecting how we see ourselves, respond to situations, and sometimes even how we view God.
When we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and become children of God, destructive patterns of thinking don't simply disappear. These patterns can develop into what we call a stronghold—a mindset that resists God's truth.
Freedom Ministry helps individuals recognize these areas and bring them into alignment with the truth of God's Word.
As part of the eight-week discipleship process, you'll be asked to purchase and work through required biblical resources available through New Community Freedom Ministry.
You'll also receive a free copy of The Steps to Freedom in Christ to use as part of your Freedom Appointment.

Yes! Freedom Ministry also offers versions of the process for teens and children. A signed parent or guardian consent form is required for minors.
Our team can provide additional information about the appropriate process after registration.
Yes! Our Freedom Ministry team is trained to handle the information you share with care and confidentiality throughout the process.
In addition to Freedom Appointments, Freedom Ministry offers Small Groups designed to provide individuals with continued support on their journey toward spiritual freedom. These groups include The Freedom Group, offered online and in person, and Mandentity.
